With a view to continuously expanding its machining range, Gamba has added a vertical CNC honing machine for Car PE500 cylinders.
The machine carries out honing for cylinders with diameters from 16 to 120 mm and allows tolerances of a few thousandths and roughness of less than Ra 0.1.
Fanuc cnc control gives it a high degree of flexibility, providing different machining strategies to meet even the most stringent requirements.
In particular, the set-up and equipment prioritise the finish, which, in tests, came down to sub-micron Rt.
To reduce the environmental impact and provide better protection for its employees, the honing machine also uses cutting oil based on synthetic esters produced from vegetable bases, in cooperation with Cadoil, our partner for the development of the sustainable factory.
