OML and Gamba strengthen their collaboration with the production of the new IMG vice

IMG: versatility is a must
IMG is the new self-centering mechanical vice developed by OML for machining with 5-axis machines, equipped with a patented telescopic system, which allows the continuous opening and closing movement of the vice, while keeping the screw completely protected from dirt.
With a conversion kit it is possible to transform IMG from self-centering to fixed point and or double locking: 3 types of locking with a single vice.
In the double locking version it is not necessary that the pieces have the same size, thanks to a compensation system.
The IMG vices are equipped with reversible Sintergrip jaws that allow no pre-machining and minimum clamping depth (3.5 mm), ensuring a safe and deformation-free clamping of the piece.

Gamba contributes to the perfect functioning of the vice by making the main components with high quality standards.

The two slides, made of 42CrMo4, require extremely reduced geometric tolerances to guarantee precision and regularity of movement.
They are made with a 5-axis machining center using the IMG vices which, thanks to the high rigidity much higher than the previous generation vices, allow us to create the piece in a single step, eliminating the grinding of the sliding surfaces.

By making the whole piece in a single placement, the geometries are perfectly combined for a better quality of the finished product.
